Issues in Lewisburg

Like many other rural towns, Lewisburg faces development concerns that can be approached in many different ways. Some ways are less helpful and more harmful than others.

Infrastructure is one of these concerns. Any city needs roads, sidewalks, and utilities to support its population and commerce. Another concern that may not be as much of an issue as some would have you believe, is housing. Many people are fleeing big urban centers even now, ever since the Covid pandemic. Some would have you believe it's time to urbanize. I don't believe that.

Without sufficient water, power, telecommunications, transportation infrastructure, and educational facilities, a growing population is unsustainable and frankly unwelcome. As such, it's better to focus on the infrastructure to support a growing population before selling Lewisburg out to housing bubble grifters whose scam became unprofitable in urban centers.

This will be a focus of mine, and my platform should I ever run for any office. Don't Urbanize Lewisburg.
